Bradford’s Take your Kids to Work Day last Friday was an action-packed day filled with lots of activities. Bradford encouraged their employees to invite the kids to join them at work to gain exposure to the workplace and see where mom or dad worked.
An awesome day
Coordinated by Miriam Dominguez, office manager, executive assistant, a fun-filled day was planned for the youngsters and their parents.
The day started out with breakfast and movies! So the kids enjoyed watching a 12-year-old boy named Miguel he seeks the help of his deceased musician great-great-grandfather to return him to his family in COCO; the Parrs, attempt to live a quiet suburban life in The Incredibles; and an arcade game villain rebels against his “bad guy” role and dream of becoming a hero in Wreck-It Ralph.
The day continued with face painting flowers, hearts, scary faces, and unicorns were painted on the kiddos faces. Followed by wagon rides around the office while they worked on their aim by throwing slimy lizards at the office glass windows. The day wasn’t all paint and candy, as the kids visited the Sweet Spot Stop, the kids also had fun working on hand-eye coordination skills like bowling, checkers, ring toss and of course, corn hole.
The lunch hour at the office was not the same daily routine even though, it included lunch, the kids were not disappointed with the local fare of hot dogs, fries, pizza, Cheetos, Doritos, and beverages. Sustained with nourishment the kids, and parents, watched the Balloon man make the most awesome hats, swords, rainbows, dogs, spiders, bunnies. The day continued as the kids ran around the office bowling, playing checkers.
Of course, everyone needs a break in the middle of the afternoon. The ‘catch your breath’ moment was spent snacking and coloring.
What could be more enjoyable and fun than a collection of animals that you can pet, cuddle, and marvel at? Creepy Critter Show was a hit with the youngsters. The youngsters learned about and got to pet the frogs, spiders, lizards (OH MY!), turtles, snakes, and many others.
The day wrapped up ice cream sundaes, a visit to the CEO’s office for a group picture and a Bradford Surprise. A great day was had by all and there may, or may not, have been a few that took an afternoon snooze on the way home tired from all the fun at the office.
Thank you to the Bradford mom and dads for bringing the kids to the office and everyone that participated in making the day such a memorable day for the kids.
Now the kids think this is what we do all day at the office!!! (Oh Dear!!)
